Our Trip to Homeland Security

Yesterday we took a road trip to Milwaukee to be fingerprinted by Homeland Security (see the ominous looking picture of the location) as part of our form I-600A with the ultimate goal, receiving our I-171H form needed to complete our dossier. The scary part is Jim has very poor fingerprints and we may get called back to try it again for him. Therefore, the wait continues.

It doesn't sound like it will be the end of the world if we get a delayed I-171H because we are "pre-registered" with the SDA in Ukraine as number 642. And, providing the new Minister doesn't change procedures, we should be good to go and not have to submit our complete dossier until our turn in line.

A couple of weeks ago, the SDA announced that they will only accept 1463 dossiers for the year 2008 from around the globe. It scared us to think we might not make the cut. But our facilitator, Lev assured us that we have been guaranteed a spot in line and we just needed to wait our turn to submit our complete dossier.
