The Ride Continues....

Nothing much to report today other than we are frantically getting our dossier updated.  Last week our facilitator indicated that we only needed to update 3 documents for our dossier submission.  Yesterday, he sent us an email telling us that we had to update several other documents in order for our documents to be in order when our dossier reception comes up, hopefully in early June.  There is still so much uncertainty as to how this new law regarding age will affect us -- we have good days and bad days.  Today is a neutral day.  Our facilitator has acknowledged our emotional vulnerability to this whole process and has now taken on the additional role as therapist -- especially for me (Heather)!  He told me yesterday to have a neutral feeling about this whole thing with a real good feeling that this was going to work out and continue to have optimistic thoughts.  He feels that we will be fine with the age factor as a result that our dossier was originally set up for me to travel alone anyway.  He is going to get the position of the Ministry of Justice regarding our case.  Do we really want to know??!!  Heather is in constant contact with many families attempting to complete an adoption and some are in our identical situation and they are being told similar stories which makes it much easier for us to accept that this might actually work.  Thanks for your continued support and well wishes,
Heather and Jim

Thanks for your comment; and it's more like nervousness & apprehension that we are feeling before this submission date. Once it's actually done I will feel the excitedness! :) Good luck with everything on your end.

Sadly I have learned of a family that was in the middle of an adoption and waiting for a court date. The SDA refuses to grant them any clemency and has stopped their adoption because of the age difference. Tragic!
